The rhythm is gonna get you
What to expect
The Ribola Art Route invites you to celebrate the eclectic rhythm of Limpopo through the sights and sounds of this out-of-the-ordinary community.
Meet the dynamic teacher, musician and sculptor, Lucky Ntimani and his students at the Tinyiko Art Centre, for a session of dance and song. Learn the creative ways he makes music with carved drums, marimbas, mbiras and an instrument made of tin plates and old springs!
Then at Pilato Bulala's home studio in Tshivuyuni Village, witness his genius at work and see how he creates his scrap metal sculptures, called "scraptures".
At Vutsila Mountain Art School, sculptor, musician and teacher Thomas Kubayi brings musicians together under the marula tree for ancient rhythms and a musical soul-session that'll get you moving to the beat. The festivities carry on into the night with traditional beer and sundowners, before your experience culminates in an overnight homestay with your host family.
