Backpack the Kalahari Red Dunes
What to expect
The Northern Cape is home to the renowned Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, one of the world’s largest conservation areas and one of the last truly unspoilt ecosystems on the planet – perfect for the wildlife enthusiast. The Northern Cape also boasts distinct cultural experiences, a colourful history, and is home to the San people, who still practice their ancient ways of life.
On this tour you will get stuck in with some good, old-fashioned Northern Cape hospitality at the famous Diamond T Coffee Shop, and Witdraai Bush camp where birders will be in their element. Dune boarding allows adventurous travellers to get stuck in and, according to legend, if you leave with the red sands of the Kalahari in your shoes it means you're coming back!
Stay in traditional San huts at Boesmansrus Grass Huts and soak up the culture at the Khomani San Living Musuem, before enjoying a game drive at Loch Maree Guest Farm and delicious lunch on the salt pans, followed by a gamer drive and sundowners in the dunes at Inkbospan Guest Farm.
